How to measure learning impact?
“What is the return on my investment (ROI) in this learning experience?” It’s a valid question by some of our clients.
👉 Our answer is: “All quantifiable and non-quantifiable benefits generated by changed behaviour of your employees/clients/stakeholders – both in the short ànd long term”.
Obviously, this ‘consultant’ advice is easier said than measured.
To actually measure, I recommend to define very clearly the top 3 of changes you wish to see. Next, define how and when to measure them.
Example: If you organise a yearly customer & leads event, ensure you know where each customer and lead is in the sales pipeline and measure three KPI’s:
Will they speak positively about your event (= net promotor score © (NPS))?
Did they actively engaged with the content you served?
Did they move in the sales pipeline in the 3 months following the event?
To summarise: 💰ROI of a learning experience can be measured with 3 metrics that measure:
The Net Promotor Score ©,
Engagement level,
Progress in the pipeline (be it: sales, expertise, practical skill, etc).
